Working Mums, Time and Crockpots
When you are a working mum, time is precious. It seems from the moment you wake to the moment you hit the pillow, someone is making demands on your time. You have to be kind to yourself and be a good guardian of your valuable time.
Healthy Crockpot RoastThis recipe for cooking roast in a crockpot is easy, simple and healthy. Leave the skins on the vegetables to retain the vitamins. Research indicates that in most vegetables the nutrients are just right under the skin. There are no mixes or packets of gravy in this recipe, which contain toxic MSG and excess salt. This recipe does call for a can of mushroom soup, but you can get a low-salt variety or make your own to pour over the roast.

Crockpot Caramel ApplesIf you don’t have a crockpot, please go to Walmart and get one right now! If you don’t cook much, or don’t think you can, you will when you get a crockpot. You will actually use it! You can eat real food when you come home from work now. I will be adding lots of good, tested crock pot recipes from the freezing winters I spent in Minnesota and Iowa, and you will love them. With a crockpot, you can pretend you’re “going out to eat.” You throw everything in, and forget it. The longer you forget it, the better it tastes. Then, you can pretend you didn’t make it, because the kitchen is clean and there is one pot waiting with your dinner in it.
